Gill is a landscape photographer whose work investigates sustainability discourses through the rhetoric of urban regeneration and gentrification within the post-industrial landscape. Her choice of walking as a research methodology allows her to encounter landscapes through an embodied practice, creating a dialogic relationship with the environment that encourages a critical approach to her work. Gill has recently completed an MA in Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Regeneration of the Greenwich Peninsula was conceived in the 1990s during a period in which climate change and discourses about sustainability were dominant global themes. The site, which formerly housed heavy industry, was selected to become a new urban quarter; a flagship for sustainable development, providing an example of a well-designed, twenty first century, socially inclusive, mixed community. Employing an immersive practice, ‘Walking the Greenwich Peninsula’ takes a critical look at the landscape and questions the sustainability of developments.
