Judith Fischer

Judith is a designer and photographer currently based in Munich, Germany. She is currently doing an MA in Photography and Urban Culture at Goldsmiths University of London. She has always been very interested in photography and visual representations and this degree is a welcome addition to her work as a designer in the German film industry. Her focus is on urban culture and the environment people create within the city.

The project Second Generation looks at the traces and visual representations of Turkish migrants in Munich. Families who arrived as guestworkers in the 1970s have now been in Germany for generations and have made Munich their home. The Turkish community is vibrant and the memory of Turkey still survives in many details scattered throughout the city.
